Getting started

Setting up TradeCatch, the AI office manager for UK trades: what happens after you sign up, how long setup takes, and which tool to start with.

These are the same answers TradeCatch customers see in the app. Where one says “open Help” or names a page, that’s inside TradeCatch once you’ve signed in. Sign in →

What does each tool do?

With Calls, Catch picks up when you can't, takes the details, and texts you the job.

With Quotes, Catch builds and sends professional quotes in minutes, and tracks whether they've been opened or accepted.

With Bookings, Catch lets customers book jobs straight into your calendar, using the free slots you set.

With Reviews, Catch asks happy customers for a Google review with one tap.

With Marketing, Catch brings past customers back when their next job is due, like a yearly boiler service.

What actually happens after I sign up?

First, confirm your email address using the link we send you. If it doesn't arrive, the "Check your email" screen lets you send it again.

Next, your Billing page asks you to choose your plan and add your card. Payments are handled by Stripe.

Then you can take a two-minute tour with sample data, or skip it. Either way you land on Home, which lists the steps to set up each tool.

How long does setup take?

Most people have their AI receptionist answering in about 10 minutes. You tell us about your business, then forward your calls, which takes about 60 seconds.

Each of the other tools has its own short setup of three or four quick steps. You can do them whenever suits you.

Do I have to set up all five tools straight away?

No. Home shows the steps for each tool, and you can do them in any order, whenever you're ready. Nothing stops you using one tool before the others are set up.

If you hide the list on Home, open Help and choose "Show getting started" to bring it back.

Which tool should I set up first?

Start with Calls, so no job slips through while you're busy. Home puts "Set up your AI receptionist" first for that reason.

After that, Quotes is the usual next step, then Bookings, Reviews and Marketing.

I'm not technical. Can I still do this?

Yes. Every setup asks plain questions about your business and fills in the rest from your trade.

Forwarding your calls is one code you dial on your phone, and the Forwarding page gives you a copy button and a test step.

If you get stuck, open Help and choose "Ask Catch", or email us at support@tradecatch.ai.

What's the sample account, and how do I get out of it?

It's a pretend business, Dave Mitchell Plumbing, filled with sample calls, quotes, bookings and reviews. It shows you what TradeCatch looks like once it's busy. Nothing in it is ever sent to anyone.

While you're in it, a banner says "You're exploring with sample data". Tap "Set up my business" on that banner (or "Back to my business", once you're set up) to go back to your own account.

To see it again later, tap your business name and choose "See sample data". Or open Help and choose "Take the tour".

How do I put TradeCatch on my phone's home screen?

Add it to your home screen and it opens full-screen with the TradeCatch icon, like an app.

On iPhone: 1. Open TradeCatch in Safari. 2. Tap the Share button. 3. Tap Add to Home Screen. The first time you open it from your home screen, you'll sign in once more. After that it stays signed in.

On Android: 1. Open TradeCatch in Chrome. 2. Tap the Chrome menu (⋮). 3. Tap Install app (or Add to Home screen).

On a computer, get it onto your phone first: go to app.tradecatch.ai in your phone's browser and sign in, then follow the steps above.

I got stuck in setup. Do I lose what I've done?

Mostly not. Quotes, Bookings and Marketing save as you go, so you pick up where you left off.

Calls saves each step too, but if you close the browser tab before you finish, you'll go through the steps again. Your answers are quick to fill in a second time.

Reviews saves when you reach the last step, so finish it in one go if you can. It only takes three steps.
