TradeCatch vs Tradify and Jobber: job management app or office manager?

Tradify and Jobber are job management apps: you run your jobs, quotes, diary and invoices in them yourself. TradeCatch is an AI office manager for UK trades: it answers the phone and does much of that work for you. If you’ve got a team and want proper job management, Tradify or Jobber will suit you better. If you’re a small outfit drowning in calls and admin, TradeCatch does more of it for you.

Tradify vs Jobber: what each is good at

Both are well-established apps for running a trade business. You schedule jobs, send quotes, raise invoices and keep customer records, and both connect to accounting software. Checkatrade’s free TradeMore is another option; we compare it with TradeCatch here.

Tradify charges per person: £34 a month on Lite, £37 on Pro and £44 on Plus, with a 14-day free trial and no contract. It syncs both ways with Xero, and the higher plans add online quote acceptance and appointment reminders.

Jobber publishes its prices in US dollars, from $49 a month on its Core plan for one user. It also sells a Receptionist add-on, at $29 a month for 30 conversations, that answers calls and texts and books jobs into Jobber. See how it compares with other AI receptionists.

Where TradeCatch is different

With a job management app, the app holds the work and you run it. Both speed up quoting, and Jobber can draft quotes from new requests and chase them for you. Unless you add Jobber’s Receptionist, you still answer the phone and book the job in yourself. TradeCatch does those steps for you:

A receptionist worth putting your name to

It answers in your business’s name, so it has to sound right. We test every voice on real calls over real phone lines and listen to them blind before a customer ever hears one. TradeCatch is powered by AI from OpenAI and Anthropic, and we keep testing as better ones arrive.

Which should you pick?

Pick Tradify or Jobber if you have staff to schedule and someone in the office to run it all. They’re built for that, and they do it well.

Pick TradeCatch if the office is you, at nine at night. It costs one price for the whole business, not per person, and it does the work rather than giving you somewhere to do it. Today that’s one login for the business, with logins for your team on the way.

What else you get with TradeCatch

  • Ask Catch from Claude or ChatGPT, or from the Ask bar in the app. “What’s in the diary tomorrow?” gets a straight answer.
  • A morning rundown on the phone. Ring Catch in the van and it reads you your day.
  • Customer records that fill themselves in. It does the job of a CRM without anyone typing.
  • Leads on WhatsApp or text, and accepted quotes become draft invoices in Xero.
  • UK rules built in for each trade, in British English.
  • The founder’s number. Rich Suplee has built voice and AI products for more than a decade, including launching Alexa in the UK, and led product at Xero working with small businesses. The first 25 trades talk to him directly.
