TradeCatch vs TradeMore: which is right for your trade business?
TradeMore is job management software from Checkatrade. Its paid plan, at £50 a month plus VAT, adds an AI receptionist that answers when you can’t and sends you a summary of the call. TradeCatch is an AI office manager for UK trades: it answers the call, then drafts the quote from it, books the job and looks after the customer afterwards. If you want job management with a message taken, TradeMore costs less. If you want the call turned into a booked job without typing it up yourself, that’s TradeCatch.
What TradeMore does
Checkatrade released TradeMore in summer 2025, and you don’t need to be a Checkatrade member to use it. It covers quotes, invoices, certificates, scheduling, a price list and customer records, and it connects to Xero and QuickBooks, including sending invoices to Xero in one click. There’s a free plan, and the paid plans start at £50 a month plus VAT for one person, with team plans from £200 a month.
The paid plans include its AI features. A 24/7 AI receptionist, with a choice of four UK voices, picks up when you can’t, answers common questions, takes the caller’s details and sends you a call summary. Quotes can be drafted from a chat or your voice, and it chases them by text and phone after 24 hours and again after three days. The free plan doesn’t include the AI features.
It’s a strong set of tools. If you’re still running jobs off a notebook and a pile of texts, it’s worth a look.
TradeCatch vs TradeMore: what happens after the call
Both will now answer the phone while you’re under a sink. The difference is what happens next. TradeMore’s receptionist takes the details and sends you a summary, so you can follow up. TradeCatch carries on:
- It drafts the quote from the call. You check it and send it.
- It sends you the job by text or WhatsApp, wherever you’d rather get it.
- It rings people back. Callers who hang up before leaving details get a call back in your business’s name, and tomorrow’s customers get a call to confirm.
- It books the job. When they say yes, it’s one tap to book them in, and a draft invoice lands in Xero.
- It looks after customers after the job. It asks for a Google review once the job’s done and drafts your reply. It reminds past customers when their service is due.
How good does it sound?
Your callers shouldn’t feel like they’ve rung a robot. We test every voice the way your customers will hear it: real calls over real phone lines, scored, then listened to blind before a voice goes anywhere near a customer. Underneath, TradeCatch is powered by AI from OpenAI and Anthropic, and we keep testing as better ones arrive. It still tells callers it’s an AI receptionist if they ask.

Which should you pick?
Pick TradeMore if you want free software to run jobs, quotes, invoices and certificates, or you’ve got a team to schedule. Its paid plan is also the cheaper way to have your calls answered and a message taken.
Pick TradeCatch if you’d rather the call turned into a quote, a booking and a happy customer without typing it up at nine at night. One missed boiler job usually costs more than a month of TradeCatch.
The two don’t connect to each other, so most trades will pick one. If certificates or team scheduling are what you can’t do without, TradeMore covers them. If it’s the calls, the quotes and looking after customers after the job, that’s TradeCatch.
Why trades pick TradeCatch
- Built by someone who’s done this before. Founder Rich Suplee has spent more than a decade building voice and AI products, including launching Alexa in the UK, and worked closely with thousands of small businesses at Xero.
- You get the founder’s number. The first 25 trades talk to Rich, not a help centre.
- Ask Catch from Claude or ChatGPT. Connect TradeCatch once, then ask “who’s still waiting for a call back?” from the AI you already use. It can only look, never change anything.
- A morning rundown on the phone. Ring Catch on the way to the first job and it reads you your day.
- Leads on WhatsApp. New jobs arrive by WhatsApp or text, wherever you’d rather get them.
- UK rules built in. Set up around Gas Safe, Building Regs Part G, WRAS-approved fittings and Part P, in British English.
- Calls set up in about ten minutes. Keep your number and forward the calls you miss.
- Hear it before you pay. Ring the demo line on 023 9200 2063, or have it ring your mobile.
